Palm Application Installation Tool
foInstall version 1.8 is a Windows application that allows you to create a single, self-contained, setup.exe program for your PalmOS applications. The resulting executable can contain one or more Palm .PRC, .PDB and PQA files that you wish to distribute.
A commercial version is available that adds the ability to customize the user interface, add passwords to the setup file, and to install conduits, Windows files and messages.
foInstall provides for pop-up licensing information in the setup file that is generated. The licensing is displayed to the user during the installation process along with an [Agree] button, that is required to continue.

The steps to use foInstall are:
Download and save foInst.exe to your PC. (Right-click on the link below and choose Save Target As...).
Run foInst and click the New menu item.
Click the Setup menu and then Add.
Choose add group (you can have multiple, named, groups of files) and provide a name and description for the group that will be shown to users running this setup.
Choose Setup and Add Items to the group. Select the Palm .PRC, .PQA and .PDB files that you'd like to include.
Registered users of the Commerical version can add passwords, their logos, Windows files and Palm conduit files.
To create a .exe file, choose Setup, then Build. Enter a filename for your install program. Setup.exe is the default. This will create a standalone .exe file that will contain all of your selected components.
Click the Build button to create the SETUP.EXE file.
Optionally, click the Save or Save As button to save a CFG (configuration) file, that contains the filenames and Messages used to create the Setup file.
Send the newly created setup.exe program to your clients.

Running this executable on a client's PC will begin by prompting to select between the Palm users installed on that PC.
Choosing a Palm User to Install files for
After choosing a user, the install will then go on to place the distributed Palm files into the Palm install queue on that PC. The individual Palm files will be installed onto the User's Palm Pilot the next time that they perform a Hotsync.
