![]() foLicense Server 1.1 Server-based tools to track User PDA software licenses |
|
foLicense is a Windows server application that tracks user licenses of (your) handheld software. Targeted at enterprise server applications (with many users), foLicense provides a secure, online way to track user-side registration. This removes the support pains that are usually incurred when using a PDA-based registration process; such as re-registering users after name changes, lost PDAs, or battery-dead PDAs. This also centralizes the registration process, rather than having it directly dependent on the individual user. foLicense is installed onto a client's server, along with a total user count available for the given application. The user count is controlled at the server and can be increased (or decreased) based upon the number of licenses purchased by your client. The server software is protected, in part, with a Sentinel Pro USB hardware plug. ![]() Sentinel Pro Dongle No more users than the total available can be connected to your server application. When the count is exceeded, the user is alerted to contact their admin (or your admin) so that the user count can be increased. foLicense allows you to deploy server applications into many customer sites, with usage and registration information being retrieved and maintained in one central server on your own site. Additional information is maintained, including the types of connections made, duration, success (or failures) and where the users are connecting from. An example of the information is shown in the following table. |
